Thanks for stopping by. My name is Annemarie, and I'm the Producer/Engineer here at Up Early Apps. I earned my mechanical engineering masters degree from Columbia University and spent my early years working for NASA on the International Space Station at Johnson Space Center as a Launch-to-Activation Specialist and docking station design engineer. It was after moving to Seattle and falling in love with the Pacific Northwest that I decided to do a career change.

After being part of the 777X airplane design team for Boeing, I had a magical moment happen to me. I won Startup Weekend 54-hour entrepreneurship competition and caught the startup bug. During the next couple years, I had the opportunity to learn and meet all sorts of startup people in Seattle who were working on mobile software and the-internet-of-things projects that blew me away. I toured South America, Eastern Asia, and the South Pacific and continued to meet amazing entrepreneurs who were working on their projects abroad and was fortunate enough to witness first hand how mobile was changing the lives of millions of people who prior to 2 years ago, had little to no communication abilities with the larger world.

After returning to the USA I decided to learn the new Apple language Swift and become one of the first developers of that language. I gained experience by learning on my own, attending the Code Fellow iOS developer bootcamp, and then interning as a software developer at a startup in Seattle. I've also furthered my skills by working on independent projects of my own and with friends. If you're interested in working with me, head over to the contact page on my site, and give me a shout!
